I enjoyed how the emotion of the confrontations was written into each part of the story, but I couldn't, connect very well with the author and his personal trials of trying to overcome sometimes petty ego and a bulli|About the Author|The author was born in England and studied at Oxford and Cambridge. He was a barrister in London before moving to Hong Kong as a law professor. He currently lectures in Exeter, where he lives with his wife and their three young children.

The story of the author’s obsessive attempts to master wing chun kung fu while living in Hong Kong. The search for perfection takes in a range of other disciplines, from mindfulness through the Alexander Technique to fasting Marathon Monks. Told with humour, this book gives an authentic flavour of Hong Kong and its everyday kung fu grandmasters.
